Friday, October 10, 2025
We depart on our overnight flight from OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg.

Saturday, October 11:
From the airport we proceed to Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where we check into our hotel, which is within walking distance of the sanctuary of Our Lady. In the evening we may participate in the Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary, Holy Mass, Blessings of Objects, Prayer for health of soul and body, and the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. Overnight: Medjugorje

Sunday, October 12:
After a good breakfast we meet our guide, who shows us around the sanctuary and explains the history of the apparitions of Medjugorje. We join other pilgrims in the daily English-speaking Mass. After lunch, we follow the Way of the Cross on Mount Krisevac. The massive cross on the peak was erected long before the apparitions, in 1934 to mark the 1,900th anniversary of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. There will be opportunity to hear first-hand testimony from one of the visionaries of Medjugorje. Overnight: Medjugorje

Monday, October 13:
In the morning we climb the Hill of the Apparitions where bronze plaques depicting the Mysteries of the Rosary help us meditate on the life of Our Lord. On top is the site of the first apparitions of the Virgin, a place of contemplation. We again join in the daily English-speaking Mass. We then have time at leisure to pray, maybe make a confession, follow the Via Crucis in the sanctuary’s beautiful Gardens, which also contain the miraculous statue of Jesus. Overnight: Medjugorje

Tuesday, October 14:
Today we leave Medjugorje and take our flight to the city of Lyon in France. There our bus waits to take us to the small town of Paray-le-Monial, where young Sr Margaret-Mary Alacoque experienced apparitions of Jesus between 1673-75, giving rise to the devotion to the Sacred Heart. Overnight: Paray or nearby

Wednesday, October 15:
After a good French breakfast in our hotel, we enjoy a guided tour of Paray-le-Monial. We see the Apparition Chapel where Sr Margaret-Mary had her visions of Jesus. The chapel also includes the saint’s tomb. Just up the road is the Colombiere Chapel, which holds the tomb of the Jesuit priest St Pierre Colombiere, who believed Sr Margaret-Mary and supported her in spreading the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We also visit the impressive 12th-century Basilica of Paray-le-Monial. Adjacent is the lovely Park of the Chaplains with an open chapel. It is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Overnight: Paray or nearby

Thursday, October 16:
Today is the feast day of St Margaret-Mary Alacoque, and we join in the prayerful, reflective and joyful festivities of the day. Overnight: Paray or nearby

Friday, October 17:
Today we leave Paray-le-Monial and drive through the French countryside to Paris. Along the way we stop in the town of Nevers to visit the Convent of St Gildard, where St Bernadette of Lourdes lived and died. Her incorrupt body is kept in a glass coffin in the convent’s chapel. Overnight: Paris

Saturday, October 18:
Today we have a guided tour of Paris. On Montmartre we visit Sacre Coeur Basilica, one of the worlds greatest churches where the Blessed Sacrament has been permanently exposed for veneration for almost 140 years. We enjoy a panoramic tour with famous sights such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and so on. Another special moment will be to see the newly-restored Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Overnight: Paris

Sunday, October 19:
After breakfast we visit the Miraculous Medal Chapel in Rue de Bac, where St Catherine Labouré had the apparition of Our Lady that gave rise to the popular devotion and which holds her tomb. If possible, we join in Mass in this great place. We also see the Vincentian Fathers’ church which holds the tomb of St Vincent de Paul. Time permitting, we have time at leisure
before we transfer to Charles de Gaulle Airport to make our way home.

Monday, October 20:
We land in Johannesburg, with many memories for a lifetime, giving thanks to God for our spiritually enriching pilgrimage.
